Leading  civil-society organizations from Kiev (Ukrainian Kyiv), Harare and Munich are represented at the Munich conference. These are organizations which work and campaign for the respect of human rights, sustainable development and a better quality of life. For example:

WOZA (Women of Zimbabwe Arise) – an organization which received the “26th Annual Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award“ from President Barack Obama in November 2009 for its courageous work and commitment.

Mehr Demokratie e.V. has been successful in initiating and pushing through referenda at the municipal level in Bavaria. The aim is to implement the right of the people to decide. At municipal, regional, federal and European levels of government, citizens should be able to decide important questions of policy by fairly conducted referenda.

FEMEN – is a group of young female students who organize imaginative publiv campaigns to demand rights for women, and point out false developements in society – an example being “The Ukraine isn’t a Brothel” .

Green City e.V. this group campaigns for an ecologically informed development of the city and an improvement in the quality of life of Munich’s citizens through creative projects such as the "Streetlife Festival" or the "Munich Blade Night".

ISAR Ednannia supports citizen’s initiatives and NGOs in articulating their interests and demands.

CHRA – the Combined Harare Residents Association promotes and campaigns for  „Good Governance“ at the municipal level. The CHRA successfully campaigned for the wider involvement of civil society in the drawing up of the Harare municipal budget.

The city administrations are represented by high-ranking personalities:

Emmanuel Chiroto, Deputy Mayor of Harare and the contact person for civic participation

Hep Monatzeder, Mayor of Munich with the focus of International and Sustainable Development, Health and the Environment, Finance and Public Safety and Construction.
